Kent Road Relays – Ashford #3

Race report by Jo Kemp:

What a lovely evening compared to last time. Warm and humid, there was much more joy in the atmosphere this evening.
A great turnout from team TRAC and some fantastically competitive running.
A few tweaks to the course from previous years, and the consensus was that it was much improved.

We started off on a sharp right turn up a hill and around a small first loop. The course then split left for the second loop or right off to the other side of the park.
A long stretch looms ahead to a turn point where the course turns back along the path and you could see the other runners. We had just enough energy to wave the baton at each other.

As a spectator there were plenty of opportunities as the course wound around the park to see runners and give them lots of encouragement.

The team are starting to relax into the series and enjoy the comerardery of the team style event. It certainly makes you dig deep to maintain pace, try to overtake competitors and do TRAC proud.

Well done everyone, hope to see you all again at the next fixture at the home leg at Minnis 24th June.

Next club championship race is the North Downs 30k on the 29th June.
