TRAC Runner of the month – June

Runner of the month – June is …. Jacqui Brazil

Jacqui has had a fantastic year with her running – taking on the challenge of the London Marathon for the first time in April. Jacqui trained hard for this distance, focused on fund raising for a charity close to her heart and completed it in a great time of 5h 40, reflecting that in addition to the running challenge she stopped to be interviewed and raise awareness for an important cause.  Jacqui consistently joins club training runs, always with a smile and encouragement for others.  She has been a member of the relays team in the recent East Kent relays and is without doubt the loudest supporter – not only for TRAC, but every other clubs’ runners that cross the line! With Jacqui’s sociable nature, its a big bonus to the club that she has teamed up with Jan to jointly act as Social secretaries to the club.  Our congratulations and thanks to you Jacqui!

We asked Jacqui:

Q. What attracted you to join TRAC?
A: I attended couch 2 5km in January 2019 ..the first year it was held …because my  husband who was going to do it backed out….I will be forever grateful to him xxx I realised quite quickly I could run and talk at the same time

Q. What’s your best moment?
A:…running past the KFC building 3 times a night was heaven xx my best moment was meeting Kirsty …my fellow couch ….the kindest person and friend…we have had some fantastic runs xxx and the social side is phenomenal…most thanks to my beautiful friend Jan xxx

Q. What would you say to a new person who is considering joining?
A: To any person thinking of joining…the club has made great accommodation to the new c25km runners xx they support you into the next stage of your running  xx

Q. What does the club mean to you?
A: I don’t know how I would have coped during this period of time if I didn’t have running … which I thank every single member especially Spencer who still  treats me the same and takes the micky out of me …. I will continue to shout at every finishing line …but in my head I do sometimes think I’m older than you xxx thank you all xx
