This Sunday, TRAC headed to Canterbury for the first instalment of the Club Champs in 2026.
The course was new for 2026, with the race headquarters now being hosted by the University of Kent campus, and the course going through a completely new section of Canterbury.
We initially completed a one mile loop around the University before going out on one big loop towards Whitstable, which took in the villages of Tyler Hill and Radfall before turning back and following the Crab and Winkle Way to the University of Kent finish.
The new course was received well and most seemed to enjoy the changes. Thanks to all the
marshalls who gave great encouragement out on route. There were lots of hills to negotiate but then there were lots to enjoy running down too! A particularly tricky section of hills through the pathed woods, from around the 7th mile sapped energy and great resolve was needed to complete the course. Some sections with a small covering of mud perhaps favoured those who have been involved in the recent cross countries.
Well done everyone in team TRAC for today! It was a very busy event so we couldn’t get full team photos today. With over 25 attending if would have been a big task to herd them all together!

Matt Collyer was first back for the men, followed by Oli Regan and Jamie Hipgrave.
Elly Maggs was first back for the ladies, followed by Asmaa Hatim and Claire Greenaway. .
Well done Dave Winch who ran a fantastic race having recently turned 80!
Kent Grand Prix 2025
Congratulations to Matt, Chris and Jo who today picked up their hard earned trophies from last season’s 2025 Kent Grand Prix! Perseverance from competing throughout the year over a mixture of distances and terrains certainly paid off!
