Featured TRACcie – Anna Harrison

Anna was nominated by Gary Pearse who said “I cannot over state the energy and enthusiasm Anna brings to every session she attends. She encourages everybody around her to bring out their best and makes running fun. After all, isn’t that why we do it? She gives so much to the club, including her time has marshall secretary, I think it’s time she was given the recognition she deserves.”

Q. What attracted you to join TRAC?

A. We didn’t know anyone when we moved to Kent, so I looked at local run groups on the web. An encouraging call with a run leader (Steve) to try it out (end of 2017) and a group that looped and supported – I was in!!

Q. What’s your best moment?

A. Finally seeing my hubby Rich join C25k, then the club and doing Harbour Wallbanger in 2025!

Q. What would you say to a new person who is considering joining?

A. Give it a go – there are lots of different people all shape, sizes, ages and speeds who are offered different options for run sessions and social times! If you can’t make a run every week they will still welcome you back! Maybe speak to someone at Margate or Pegwell Bay parkrun – they will find you a TRACCIE to tell you about it and / or check out the website for more info!

Q. What does the club mean to you?

A. It’s a place I can go to enjoy running with others, familiar and new. I feel proud to wear my TRAC t-shirt (albeit a bit tighter these days) and do a race/cross country, even if not the fastest and love the community part of volunteering. Whilst for different reasons I may not regularly run or race, I feel welcomed and supported by club members when I do – so thank you!
