Kent Road Relays 5 – Samphire Hoe

Samphire Hoe – Dover Relay

Tuesday evening saw us gathering for the penultimate relay of the season in Samphire Hoe County Park hosted by Dover Road Runners.

A little bit windy on the sea front but beautiful and sunny. The relay was 2.3 miles with a headwind on the way out before heading up a steepish hill into the nature reserve. There were a few gravel paths, wooden bridges to cross with one more hill before hitting the sea front prom and straight run back to the start.

Thanks to our cheerleaders for the evening – Ade, Gary and Cal perfectly positioned at the top of the first hill.

We had 11 teams running this relay. Unfortunately a few last minute changes for the men meant the senior A and B team couldn’t score.

Overall the ladies senior team are sitting comfortably in 2nd position and V55 team is 3rd. Although there was no V55B team this week we could still hit podium if we can get a team together ready for Canterbury.  For the men the V40B team are sitting in 2nd.
