Faversham 10k

27th September 2025 – Faversham 10k. Some said before it was more hilly than Wingham – Im not sure! It certainly doesn’t have the big hill right at the start – and the one at 2k was shorter than expected – but it did have hills, lovely countryside, quiet lanes – and whilst they couldn’t be shut to trafic, not many cars out. However for the fast people e.g. Rohan, the signage blocked by a lorry at a key point near the end, meant some didnt turn where required and did extra (a 10.5k).

Great venue to get to by train – 10 min walk from station. Usual set up at the start – and Faversham radio playing some great tunes! However not as many familiar faces from TRAC, Coastal or our local parkruns – but then Vitality 10k and Folkestone half were also on.

Caught up with some of ours before and after – including the lovely Terry!

Holly (from Coasties) and Gaynor were pleased to be able to set off  earlier than others (something SEUK do for another competitor) which Holly said meant she felt less pressure and worry and came in just before 12, only 30 minutes after the competitors infront – and had some of us to cheer them in – as well as cheer them out on the course, which was nice.

Sorry if I missed anyone in the results – easier to spot people with a TRAC top on and given results aren’t named by runclub!

A bonus to see Matt McCarthy at the water station  – and Emily from Overurn marshaling, with a cheer on the way out and back too!

For me it was about the taking part – and the positive mental health boost that was needed and it gave! Now I also have a time to beat next year!
