Personal Bests and Trophies galore today for team TRAC at the Ashford 10k

On a perfect day for racing, an autumnal morning, slightly overcast, team TRAC gathered for the last Kent Grand Prix and Club Champs race of the season.

This has been a challenging set of 10 races covering multi terrain and distances.

The Ashford 10k race is known as a pb course, with the bonus of a fairly flat course, with closed roads and the fact the race starts and finishes in the stadium. The last 100m really pushes you with the crowd cheering you on.

The race was well organised from start to finish with lots of space to get ready, and plenty of toilets. There were several different waves which eased the congestion out of the stadium.

This race also hosted the Kent short course champs so extra trophies and team prizes were up for grabs.

Going into the final race the TRAC Men’s team topped the Kent Grand Prix, with second place hot on our heels. And with many TRAC runners placing amazingly well in the individual standings and age categories, we eagerly await the final standings.

As Chris Brenchley – winner of the V50 today and Gold Medal in the V50 Kent short course and part of the Silver V50 team medalists said ‘Everyone gave it their all today for team TRAC, so hopefully we can bring home the Trophy we want’.

Congrats to the TRAC Kent Short Champs Team Medals Winners:

V35 Ladies – Bronze Medals

Claire Greenaway, Jo Kemp and Lainey Carter

V40 Mens – Gold Medals

Matt McCarthy, Matt Finch and Mark Croucher

V50 Mens – Silver Medals

Chris Brenchley, Phil Stevens and Spencer Hoult

Congratulations to everyone who gained PBs, to Claire Greenway for an inspiring sub 45 mins PB and to those like Sarah who ran with injuries but still gave it their all!
