National award for past Chair of Thanet Roadrunners

A couple of months ago we proudly announced that past chair Paul Wood had won the South East Region ‘Inspiring official of the year’ award.  We’re now delighted to announce he has recently received the National award for Inspiring Official of the year at a glitzy awards night in Birmingham.  

Paul is a longstanding Trac member, who has contributed to club success over many years.  We’re very proud of his achievement. 

Paul said “I was very humbled to receive this national award, it’s a great honour to represent my running club and road running in general.  We were on a table with Chris Jones CEO of England Athletics Jack Buckner CEO of UKA Clive Poynter, National Board member and Karen Forbes from World Athletics. Hannah England was the compare for the evening lots of up and coming young athletes.  I feel very honoured to be recognised and the trophy will be treasured.”
